Remedy Teas →
Hidden gem in Capitol Hill: 150 teas in store and the staff is really nice and well-versed in tea types & mixes. Perfect date spot type of place.
Ivar's Salmon House →
Classy as can be.
The Melting Pot →
Way too expensive for me to think too much about going there again anytime soon, but it did make for a great family dinner outing. Also, hilarious that when we walked in there was a very clearly high-school couple nervously waiting to be seated because the last time I considered going here was for prom I think.
Pictionary →
So classic, and yet still so good. (which I guess is the definition of a classic…) Very tempted to pick this up.
Tap House Grill →
160 beers on tap; I felt very compelled to try the Hacker Pschorr and the Pilsner Urquell :)
Dragonfish →
Delicious small plates, but more importantly Lucy Liu was celebrating her 21st birthday!!!!!!!
Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers... →
I’ve tried so many Magic substitutes recently, but none of them quite nail the whole experience. Then Steven told me he got MTG:D12, he let me try it, and one challenge scenario later I knew I had to get it. For $10 you get to play with 10 decks, which each have 16 unlockable cards to customize them with, 3 short campaign type modes and multiplayer of course. All in all a great deal and...
When the L train is down...
…everything is terrible.
Ippudo →
After working on SpotOn for so long and seeing some restaurant recommendations over and over again, it’s really exciting to actually go to a place whose name has been hammered into my brain (here’s looking at you Bhojan and Pom Pom Diner). Excellent ramen and appetizers, terrible wait though (like 2+ hours).
Castle Crashers →
Played the demo and immediately bought the full game - a very rare occurrence. Looking forward to some ridiculous hack ‘n slash fun with the roommates.
A free Xbox 360, orly? →
Thanks for your generosity, Microsoft!
This still makes me laugh so hard →
On a related note, Dirk Nowitzki is a way better Dirk than the other one I know.

The go-to stomping grounds of Kevin (Nicky’s boss and our new roommate). Very chill bar (they were playing the Tron soundtrack and watching the Mavs pwn up Game 6 when we arrived) and they have an outdoor patio to boot.
Jake's Dilemna →
The bro-iest bar I’ve seen thus far in my life. Not bad necessarily, but just really really bro.
MJ Armstrong's →
Discovering my friendly neighborhood bars one birthday party at a time.
Joe the Art of Coffee →
Recently had my first cup of Joe’s. Good stuff and very chill atmosphere.
Hashable →
For a really long time, I was like “I don’t meet enough people to need Hashable, I can track their contact stuff on my own. I got this.” Well, for better or for worse, no longer. Now I just wish I had an iPhone so I could use their mobile app.
Pivotal Labs →
If you’re looking for a stable coding job at an awesome development studio: Pivotal is hiring.
P.S. Their office is pretty spacious, they have a well-stocked kitchen, and they throw good parties (well, as good as a tech company can :P)

oooommmgggg my roommate’s insanely aggressive cat BIT ME soooo hard last night, I was bleeding from four perfect puncture wounds from his canine teeth (as well as a long bloody scratch that I didn’t even notice until two hours later because the bite hurt so much), today the bite is all bruised…
Today, I noticed that Tony’s friend Alice had a bite on her leg. A cat bite to...
1st Day of Summer MUD
Our first game did not go too well, as it became quickly apparent that people needed some time to figure out their roles on our team. We got some talent, amazing attendance, and really nice people, but we gotta lock down the fundamentals.
Also, I asserted my desire to be a handler from the get-go and while I got off to a rocky start, I got a bit more settled by the end. It’ll take a bit of...
Taco Bandito →
After scores of delivery.com orders, Gauri and I finally visited, in person, the unofficial food supplier of Team SpotOn. Cheap enough, fast enough, tasty enough; that is the Taco Bandit way [to our stomachs].

TechCrunch Disrupt 2011
These past two weeks have been insane. The team got maybe 4 hours of sleep a night; everyone was working the rest. Coding, designing, bugfinding, bugfixing, practicing the presentation, buying supplies and schwag, coordinating with press and organizers, setting up a marketing plan, and just generally keeping busy. Too much to do and too little time, but in the end we got the important things...
Gauri & Mike launching SpotOn on stage at TechCrunch Disrupt. Pwnage.
too much caffeine and too little sleep this week.
but at least it’s not for school.
no finals left. freedom.
Wai Cafe →
This place had some tasty Eggs Nova (or Eggs Burke, or Eggs Montreal, or Eggs Royale, or whatever the heck Eggs Benedict with lox instead of ham is called), so I was very sad when we found out it was closed. Turns out they are just moving addresses though, phew.
If anyone has any recommendations on good places to get the aformentioned Egg+Salmon+Muffin+Hollandaise dish in the meantime, do share!
I need to look into whether we have roof access.
Because roof parties rule.
